What is the Elance Admissions Test?
A basic admissions test must be taken and passed by all new Service Providers in order to place bids and have their profile be seen in the search results. The admissions test covers concepts found on the Elance University web pages, the Provider Guide, our Terms of Service, and the general Help section. To take the test, go to the skills section of your profile page or when prompted when creating your profile. The purpose of this test is to ensure Service Providers have taken the time to understand how the Elance system works before engaging with our customers.
Service Providers who are part of the Elance community before the inception of the admissions test are not required to take and pass the test. All existing provider profiles will have a status of "Not Required", though it is highly recommended that all providers take it. In the skills section, the Elance Admission Test will be listed along with a "Test Now" link as displayed below. Clicking on that link will bring you to the test page in order for you to take the test.
To pass the admissions test, Service Providers must correctly answer 80% of the questions. You can retake the test a maximum of 3 times (at no cost) and there is a 24 hour waiting period between test retakes.

- Not Yet Passed: The provider has not yet passed the admissions test.
- Not Required: The provider is not required to take the admissions test as they were part of the Elance community before the admissions test was a requirement.
